     The Saltwater Coast Lifestyle Centre, which opened in February 2012, won the Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award for Commercial Architecture at the 2012 Victorian Architecture Awards and the ‘Best Commercial Exterior’ at the 2012 Intergrain Timber Vision Awards.

Schools

 

     The Saltwater Coast education precinct comprises of two planned primary schools which include St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, that’s due to open at the beginning of 2014, and The Department of Education are also planning a P-9 School with sporting ovals which is proposed to open in 2016. Saltwater Coast Estate will also include a Childcare Centre which is due to open in 2014.

Beach and Coastal Park

 

     The Point Cook Marine Reserve is situated on the sandy shores of the north-western region of Port Phillip Bay and is one of the most prolific areas for marine organisms in the Bay.*

The Point Cook Coastal Park is joined to this marine reserve sanctuary and surrounds Saltwater Coast.

Nature has blessed Point Cook with a beautiful coastline of unique environmental significance. More than 190 species of birds can be seen in the Cheetham Wetlands, some migrating from New Zealand, Siberia and Alaska. A viewing tower offers breathtaking views to the city and bay whilst overlooking the Cheetham Wetlands, which provide refuge to the birds migrating to escape the northern hemisphere winter.
